Wedding Guest Style | Maine Wedding Photographers
As Maine Wedding Photographers, we get asked a lot about what type of "wedding style" our couples should have at their wedding. There's Black Tie, Business Casual, and Casual. Dean and I have found, that at least in Maine, these terms may vary a bit from our cities to the south, namely the Boston area. We recommend, if you have any questions on whats the best acceptable clothes for a particular wedding venue (say a backyard/ocean tented wedding) that you check in with the couple, family member, or attendant for that wedding. Particularly in Maine the venue really dictates the clothing choices. As Maine Wedding Photographers, we've seen a lot of wedding guests, who are staying on property, change into something a bit more comfortable to dance and relax in after dinner. Heck! Our brides, more often than not, also have a change of clothes handy so they can cut loose!
Who doesn't like the opportunity to shop for some new clothes? Ok, admittedly, it's not for everyone. There's now a great solution to finding formal wear for GUYS and it arrives right to your door. Check out the Premium Suit & Tux rental site that delivers! The Black Tux

A shawl is always a good choice for any style wedding. Especially for those Maine Fall Weddings with warm sunny days and a bit of a chill to the air in the evening!
For the guys, you can't go wrong with a stylish bow tie! A lot of our wedding parties have been opting for unique bow ties for the guys. But Dean wears a snazzy bow tie to every wedding we photograph! It also helps when the guys in the wedding are tying one for the first time!
Another great look for the guys? Mix up those patterns for a fun look! Also, singing with the band is fun. Always sing with the band when you can!
Attending a themed wedding? This is the time to go all out! Below these guests are showing off their prohibition era garb! Complete with a red carpet entry!
Here's one of my favorites from recent memory. The woman standing next to the bride in the head to toe sequin gown! I covet this dress!! Ladies, especially for a black tie event, Rent the Runway can be your BFF. I've found this one on there, in a variety of colors! And I've got it earmarked for the next time I have any occasion that requires more than yoga pants. It's STUNNING.
Remember, whatever you choose to wear, there's a good chance you'll end up in pictures throughout the day. So make sure to give everything a good pressing before you head out the door! These guys really hammed it up for the camera! Here's a great example of oceanside wedding attire. While one chose a suit, the other jazzed up some Nantucket Red pants with a blue blazer for a classic nautical feel.
