Ashley and Aaron's Oceanside Wedding | SMCC Wedding | Maine Wedding Photographers

Saturday was full of extremes! No, not any drama unless you count the dramatic clouds and extreme weather! Which was amazing!!! Ashley and Aaron’s day started out in a sweltering 90+ degree temps but they were tucked away in the air conditioning. Aaron was prepping with his guys in a hotel across town while Ashley and her girls were getting pampered with hair and make up in the bridal suite on the SMCC campus.

Ashley and Aaron kept their cool (hahaha pun intended!) while the weather was threatening severe thunderstorms that might cause the ceremony to be held indoors. It was only a few minutes before the ceremony when Kelly, the site coordinator, gave everyone the go ahead for an outdoor ceremony! Ashley and Aaron got the ceremony they were dreaming of overlooking the islands out in Casco Bay!

While thunder boomed in the background the ceremony went on without one drop of rain! While the rain stayed away for the ceremony it was certainly threatening so with family and friends help we breezed through their portraits, wedding party portraits and couples portraits in mere minutes! I’m giving myself a little pat on the back for getting family formals done in 7 minutes and portraits with Ashley and Aaron in 5 but family and friends really pulled together and organized so easily! Everyone pulled off an amazing feat getting it all done because with in literally two minutes of getting back into the reception site the skies opened up. No drizzle, no sprinkle, full on deluge like one of those giant buckets at the water park that dump down on everyone.

The couple partied away with family and friends while the storms raged outside but just before sunset the fog rolled in at ground level and the clouds parted just enough to get us the most amazing burning sunset! Everyone was out on the lawn enjoying the view while Ashley and Aaron headed to Spring Point Light to dance in the sunset!
