Dimillo's Floating Restaurant Wedding Photos | Portland Maine Wedding Photographers | Jodi and Peter Elope
Jodi and Peter hail from Nebraska but chose the scenic Portland waterfront floating restaurant, DiMillo's for their spring elopement. Peter’s family is from Maine and I learned a lot about them during dinner as they talked about cheer competitions and, a Maine staple, hockey. The forecast for the day was looking ominous a few days prior to their wedding date with snow, ice, and rain scheduled. Thankfully the day of, the weather had just settled on rain. Rain we can handle! Don't they always say rain on your wedding day is good luck? I certainly think it is because I get to be really creative with all of the portraits, plus it makes any window light filtering in nice and soft! When you're getting married inside of a boat, that nice filtered light is super important as there is a window about every two inches! I loved the intimate feel of this wedding with 20 guests who were all family! Jodi was walked down the aisle by her son while her daughter did a reading during the ceremony. They really made everyone feel included! After their ceremony we gathered everyone up for some family formals in the Starboard Room. From there Jodi and Peter followed me back down to the main entrance ramp for Dimillo's where there are tons of beautiful string lights draped across the ceiling. It also doesn't hurt that you can see all the gorgeous lights reflecting in the entry doors and the lights beyond. It may have been raining outside but those lights made it feel so warm and sunny!
