Glamour and Boudoir Photography | Scarborough Maine Photographer
**Some images may be NSFW**One of the best perks about being a member of my state Professional Photographers Association (MPPA) is having access to amazing learning opportunities. The MPPA has monthly meetings as well as a Annual Image Competition and Convention which is basically a nerd-fest for all of us photogs. During convention we get to hang out from sun up to sun down talking and learning all things photography. This year we had amazing speakers and courses: Steve Bedell taught about School Photography, Mary Ann Talamo taught an amazing course on using Corel Painter to create amazing painted portraits, Carl Cox taught us all about using video and how to create fusion pieces with stills and video and finally Craig LaMere held a full day course on fashion, glamour and boudoir photography posing and lighting.
Craig's class started early Sunday morning after we all had a very long day at the Image Competition. Thankfully his course gave me renewed outlook on studio work, which was serendipitous because several weeks prior we signed a lease for our studio space which is set to open May 1st in Pine Point. The course was nothing short of amazing. Craig went through all of the standard lighting patterns with studio lights as well as showed us the different results from different light modifiers - some of which I've used in the field during weddings and portraits, but never in the studio before. I then signed up for his full day Monday course which was all hands on. It was so awesome to get to collaborate with other photographers and work with a wide array of models. It was a big first for me! I've never worked in studio, with models, or one of the large muslin backdrops Craig had brought with him. But I can tell you now I'm hooked! I even have a concept shoot with one of the models lined up for next year's image competition. I have a new found love for Glamour and Boudoir Photography!
Needless to say after the course my lighting gear shopping list has grown exponentially.
The below photos are all models who have signed model releases - I do not post client boudoir images!!
