The Inn on Peaks Island Wedding Photos | Dylan and Nick's romantic Island Wedding in Maine
I can't shout it enough "I LOVE Peaks Island"!
Is there anything more Maine than your guests taking a ferry out to a wedding on Peaks Island? Even if you live right in downtown Portland, a Inn on Peaks Island Wedding makes you feel like you're having a destination wedding. Dylan and Nick decided on Maine for their wedding and couldn't have picked a better venue. I can imagine that their weekend in Maine was worlds more relaxing than their busy Boston lives.
The day started off a little warm on the main land but a quick 15 minute ferry ride out to Peaks Island and the temperature dropped a few cooling degrees and there was a perfect breeze that made their outdoor ceremony on the lawn just perfect! It was a touching ceremony where the couple celebrated their marriage as well as the SCOTUS decision on nationwide gay marriage - which happened to be the day that Nick and Dylan acquired their marriage license from Portland City Hall.
After their ceremony we skipped down to the beach for some family formals overlooking the Portland skyline and then grabbed some golf carts, which still scare me to drive, and headed to the beach on the side of the island for some amazing images of the wedding party and Dylan and Nick by themselves. I absolutely love that side beach for wedding party photos because of that awesome tree that swoops down over the beach. Unfortunately with the warm weather, the beach was a little crowded but the beach goers were more than happy to sneak out of the way so we could get that shot. We also snuck out for some sunset images later in the evening which were just amazing!
After portraits everyone sat down to one of the most amazing meals, lobster and filet! Which Jayson, the event planner at the Inn on Peaks Island, was kind enough to serve to us vendors as well. They always say to judge your date by how they treat the waiter, well always judge your venue by how they treat the other vendors - The Inn on Peaks Island is top notch!
The couple and their family and friends dance the night away to some amazing tunes that DJ Ross was spinning. Their after-dinner dancing was complete with lots of fun uplighting which really made the inside of the Inn feel like a swanky club!
Love these two and wish them nothing but the best!
