Portland Maine Wedding | Haley and Nick's Destination Wedding
This Portland Maine Wedding included a full tour of the city!
The day for Haley and Nick started with a 12 mile run. Because, when the bride and groom are training for a marathon that's two weeks after their wedding, even wedding day is a training day.
I met up with Haley and Nick at the Westin Harborview, which if you haven't been, it's an amazing hotel. Nick and all his guys were getting ready with their dog, Koda, in a suite on one of the lower floors. While they were busy steaming their suits and enjoying beers Nick had brought back from Europe, Haley and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the Presidential Suite. There couldn't have been a better backdrop for all of the festivities! Haley's suite had gorgeous views of the city and all the fall colors!
First Look in Deering Oaks Park
Nick really wanted to see Haley before the wedding so, after some brainstorming, we came up with the stone bridge in Deering Oaks Park for the big reveal! It was so sweet for them to have that moment together while the wedding party hung out in the background, giving them their space to really take in their wedding day.
A Full Tour of the City
After Deering Oaks Park we all piled into the cars and headed around for lots of Portland Maine Wedding portraits. Our first stop was the famous graffiti wall. While the wall was different from the previous time Nick and Haley saw it, it still was a gorgeous rendition of the Portland Head Light in bright bold colors. We especially lucked out because on the weekends the parking lot is typically used as a public lot, but this particular weekend it was empty!
From the graffiti wall, we grabbed the cars and headed down to the ever-picturesque Wharf Street where we took a few more portraits of the couple as well as some fun pairings of the girls and guys. I loved the energy the girls had and how fun they were to be around. I have oodles of photos of them goofing with Haley. After Wharf Street we zipped over to the Portland Co. for a quick few portraits before everyone bundled up back in the cars to prep for the Fort Allen Park ceremony on the East End.
A Portland Observatory and Narrow Gauge Railway Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony guests walked down the East End to a waiting train on the Narrow Gauge Railway. With drinks in hand, everyone boarded the train for a trip around the East End and back to the beach. At the beach a bus was waiting to take everyone up to the Portland Observatory for unparalleled views of the city at sunset!
A Five Star Feast with Wine Pairings at Five Fifty-Five in downtown Portland, Maine
During the wedding reception Haley and Nick treated their guests to a very amazing meal complete with wine pairings for every course. They chose to rent out the entire restaurant at 555 so they wouldn't have to worry about time limits or restricting their reception to one area. With the main dining room for dinner and the bar area for cocktails and dancing.
After an amazing dinner, the guests danced and partied with Haley and Nick into the wee hours!
