Julianne and Brad's Camp Jordan Wedding | Bar Harbor Wedding Photographers

Julianne and Brad first met swimming in high school. They gravitated towards each other because of their similar personalities, love for sports, outdoors, and adventures. One Sunday afternoon in October, Julianne had just walked out of the natatorium from her final high school water polo game when Brad stopped her to ask if she would be his girlfriend. She politely said yes! But then he proceeded to ask her out to dinner with his family and she promptly said no! Unfortunately she already had plans. A week or so later, Brad went to her house to carve pumpkins and they have now made a tradition out of it.

I first met Julianne and Bradley for their Acadia National Park engagement session last year during the pandemic. It was so much fun getting to meet them and learn about their adventurous nature in our trek around the park. They even brought their pups along for a few images of them on one of their favorite trails, Gorham Mountain.

Camp Jordan is a YMCA camp located on Branch Lake about 30 minutes outside Bangor. It’s exactly what you think of a New England sleep away camp. And it was such a fun way to bring Julianne and Brad’s family together with everyone staying on site in the cabins. With kayaks, canoes, and SUPs on the waters edge the couple had a blast getting to use the boats and swim in the “warm” water leading up to the party.

The ceremony was lined with gorgeous floral arrangements and just the most amazing view of the lake. During the ceremony the couple decided to tie a traditional fisherman’s knot. While it’s a very easy knot to tie (we’ve done it a few times to show couples how to tie it), it’s one of the sturdiest knots and gets stronger under pressure. Just like a marriage should! After the vows and rings were exchanged and the knot literally tied, Julianne’s mom had the florist deliver tons of rose petals for guests to shower the couple with after the “I do’s”.

We headed off to a few portraits with the dramatic clouds overhead before getting everyone tucked under the porch as we watched a thunderstorm come across the lake. Like most thunderstorms, it didn’t last long and gave way to a cooler night which was perfect for s’mores and a campfire after the reception ended.

But not before Julianne and Brad jumped in the lake!
