**Sunset sessions start 1 hour before sundown. Start times are anywhere from 6:50pm-7:30pm depending on the month
You’re an “Adventurous” Family if…
You’re ready to have fun during your portraits. If you’re game for laughing, snuggling, and getting a bit wet playing in the ocean - we are your photographers! Yes, we are going to capture those perfectly posed images with everyone smiling. But more importantly, we are going to have FUN! More often than not, our beach sessions end with everyone in the ocean splashing around.
We want to see those genuine smiles, those belly laughs, the real emotions of interacting with your family.

We work with our families to get exactly what they want from our Maine family portrait sessions. Whether you’re looking to update your annual family portrait or getting your whole extended family together to celebrate a big vacation - every family is different, and every photoshoot is unique. We always include a range of posed and candid images that honor the love, fun, and unique character of your family!
What to Expect?
We are a full service portrait photography studio
Brittany works with you every step of the way to create those relaxed family portraits and artwork for your walls for many years to come.
We get to know your family - your interests, likes and dislikes. Especially for the little ones. I like to “hit the ground running” with some topics they like to help ease them into being in front of the camera.
Wardrobe Consultation & Access to our Client Closet! - We will go over wardrobe selection with our guide, sample ideas and color schemes for your location of choice, all to pull your session together.
The first 20-30 minutes to formal family portraits
Then it’s time for FUN! I have some activities/light direction that encourage great candid moments and family interaction.
Towards the end of the session when the kids are relaxed I take them aside and make a portrait of just them
At the end everyone comes back together for a few more informal group images (and you’re most likely going to splash in the water - so be prepared! Getting soaked is encouraged!)
Beach sessions are scheduled to start either one hour before sunset or 20 minutes before sunrise for fewer crowds and the best light.
Wooded and city locations can be scheduled throughout the day.
