It sounds like a scary task, and I may have lost a little sleep over preparing for this session but honestly, these guys were so much fun to work with that Dean and my faces hurt from smiling and laughing by the time we wrapped up the session.
I’ve worked with groups this large but normally at weddings where we are doing one posed big family group and then it’s on to the next - and until a wedding this year - never a group with so many children! I’m proud to say the large group photo below only has one head swap. Getting a group this size all looking in the right direction in one to two shots is amazing!
When Michelle reached out to organize this family portrait session she told me her family routinely plans these large family vacations and organizes portraits for them everywhere they visit. This is such a great idea! I have family scattered across the country that we never get to see and, while being the actual planner for a trip like this seems a bit daunting, it sounds like a great idea to get everyone in one place. It makes each summer trip a big family reunion.
