Goose Rocks Beach, Kennebunkport Maine Family Portraits | The C Extended Family
Something I feel I probably do all too often? Jump into strangers vans. In the C family’s case, I jumped into their white van upon first meeting them. In retrospect it was the worst attempted kidnapping ever. They didn’t even have candy or puppies in their van.
Truth? I totally jumped into their van after just saying “hi” to them. The reason? This year has been horrible for weather. The day was forecasted to be cloudy and not rain until after dark so we bumped up their session. Upon arriving at the beach and parking, about 5 minutes later, it started to pour. That’s when the C family rolled up in their van. Instead of shouting between the cars to reschedule their session, they kindly rolled open their mini van door for me to jump in.
We rescheduled to a sunnier date, for which it also rained, so we moved it again to the final evening they were in Maine. Thankfully it worked out. We did have to switch locations as well because the beach we originally selected would have had very little sand several days later when the tides shifted.
I’m pretty sure it all worked out for the best. We got a beautiful sunset that evening, the weather was so great, the heads of the family got a quick date night out before the session - which moved to Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport. When I arrived they were over at the Tides Beach Club enjoying cocktails! They even were so kind as to invite me over while we waited for everyone to arrive, but in beach session fashion - I didn’t have any shoes!
We had a great night on the beach and I loved playing with their family and getting to show the kiddos all about the singing sands at Goose Rocks.
