Tyler and Kiersten's Surprise Proposal in Acadia National Park
Here’s where I would write something about well laid plans and how the dang GPS unit will foil those. Tyler’s surprise proposal may have started off a little rough with his GPS taking him to the wrong lot and then neither of us having great cell service to communicate back and forth about where I was hiding waiting for Tyler and Keirsten to stroll on by. Thankfully Tyler’s phone and mine got service at just around the same time to find out he was a few parking lots up the road at Thunder Hole while I was down the road at Gorham Mountain Trailhead. Since the road is only one way, he didn’t want to go too far in case he missed where I was - there’d be no turning back!
But we met up and he was able to surprise Kiersten by popping down on one knee amid the beautiful rocky coastline of Acadia. She gleefully said yes and there was a whole lot of celebration (and a bit of relief for both Tyler and I that we were able to connect and make it all work out!) But thanks to Tyler and this mishap, we’ve got some great plans in store to help our couples make the most of their Acadia proposals going forward.
From their proposal on Ocean Drive we walked over to check out Boulder Beach which is one of my favorite spots on this stretch of road but not so easy to find - so that’s a place we go after the surprise!
For sunset we headed to one of my favorite spots that isn’t Cadillac Mtn. - That’s just impossible to get to now with the reservation system in place. We had a little bit of drama in the sky so we did a few big view images before Tyler and Kiersten snuggled in to share some cuddly moments together.
