Bar Harbor Inn Wedding | Amanda and Patrick

Amanda and Patrick rescheduled their wedding from 2020 to 2021 and had a lot of family and friends flying in from all over the US for their first big gathering so the day had to be perfect. And it absolutely was!

The morning of their wedding started out pretty much just like their proposal story. The couple was in Nova Scotia celebrating their Master’s Degree graduations and Patrick knew that would be the perfect time to propose and then they could not only celebrate their graduations but the proposal with their families. Of course, the weather that week in Nova Scotia wasn’t the best - and Pat wanted to wait for the perfect time to propose. So there was a lot of walks and visits to scenic parks in rainy & cold weather. But when Pat did propose it was absolutely perfect!

Their wedding day started with a little bit of rain, which is pretty typical in Bar Harbor, but as we were leaving for the first look inside the park the rain let up and Amanda and Patrick had the most beautiful and secluded First Look on the cliffs around Schooner Head Overlook. We met a few well wishers along the way down the path to the ocean but the rain, that stopped literal seconds before, kept everyone away.

We arrived back at the Bar Harbor Inn just as everyone was bustling about setting up their outdoor ceremony spot. With the cloud cover from the passing storms and the amazing view the couple said their vows. At one point in the ceremony their officiant, Rev. Erika, asked everyone if they would continue to support and love the couple - the group response is “we will”. After everyone replied, Genevieve one of the flower dogs, pledged her own support with a well timed single bark. That wasn’t the only coincidence of the morning, just as Rev. Erika was set to pronounce them married, the Whale Watch boat, Friendship, blew it’s horn as it was passing by.

After the ceremony the couple joined everyone in the ballroom for an amazing meal, touching toasts that brought many to tears, and then a fun afternoon of dancing with family and friends.
