Summer Wedding at The Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine | Stephanie and Will
This Samoset Resort wedding happened because two people were at the right place at the right time!
Stephanie and Will first met in the 6th grade and had huge crushes on each other. Even sharing their first kiss in their school’s chapel. Unfortunately they ended up going separate ways as Will then started attending a different school.
Years later, both had landed internships in NYC without knowing the other had as well. One night, while Stephanie was out with her friends, they were supposed to meet some additional friends at a particular dive bar. They accidentally walked into the one next door instead and guess who was sitting at the bar? Will! Stephanie said “hold on, I just spotted my middle school boyfriend!”
Now you may have seen a few of our blog posts this year about rainy weather. This one takes the cake as far as rain. But no worries! Stephanie, Will and their family and friends were partying the night away under the tent at the Samoset while our phones were alerting us to local flood warnings.
Thankfully for this destination wedding, the couple’s family and friends all arrived the day before to enjoy the sunshine, pools, view, along with a rehearsal lobster bake on the pool lawn followed by welcome cocktails at the clubhouse, which had a gorgeous view of the sunset!
I learned at another rainy wedding why they consider it good luck to get married in the rain. When you’re tying a knot, a wet rope will hold the knot tighter and stronger than a dry rope. This is certainly going to be one strong knot! And one wedding their family and friends will remember! It was a celebration and party for the ages with everyone dancing the night away to an amazing band!
