A Summertime Granite Ridge Estate Wedding | Dan and Marcia
Summertime wedding at Granite Ridge is right! It might have been the hottest day of the year - certainly the hottest wedding we’ve ever worked in New England for sure! Marcia and Dan took the weather in stride and enjoyed their day with family and friends so much.
Dan and Marcia’s goal of the day (besides obviously getting married) was to showcase how much he loved Maine to everyone who attended and they certainly accomplished that. Their weekend at Granite Ridge started with a lobster bake al fresco the night before their wedding. Then the day of their wedding, all of their guests arrived via air conditioned coach buses to take in the beautiful mountain scenery, witness their vows, laugh with them, and then dance the night away as the sun set outside of Granite Ridge’s giant windows overlooking the western mountains.
While the guys struggled with their bowties the ladies were popping champagne and toasting the day! Shortly after the champagne was popped it was all happy tears as Marcia had her first look with her dad before heading off to the only shady spot for her first look with Dan and their doggie. That’s where they took a few moments to really soak in the day and exchange personal vows to each other. There was so many happy tears (those make us photographers very excited! We love that visible emotion!)
Their ceremony was lead by Marcia’s sister in law, Linda, who did a wonderful job of making their ceremony very personal along with uplifting and a sprinkling of humor when Dan jumped the gun and said “I do!” before it was his turn. After a quick scolding from Linda they exchanged a second set of vows, exchange of rings - where Marcia used a family ring as her something borrowed, and sealed their marriage with a kiss. Then it was time to high-five some guests on their way back down the aisle. Oh, and my favorite moment of their ceremony? After Dan’s speedy “I do” it was definitely the flower girl who decided it was snack time and started munching down on her flower petals.
Both Dan and Marcia, along with their dog, Deacon, love adventures and we were so happy to share in this next one in their lives. Speaking of adventures - not only did they get married this week but they’re nearly immediately returning home to Ohio before packing up everything and moving to Montana! They are our third couple in 2 years to pack up everything and move either out of the country or across many states the same week as their wedding!
