Alex and Amanda's Winter Engagement | Grafton Notch, Maine

In the winter we spend a lot of time in warmer weather so when Alex and Amanda suggested Grafton Notch for their engagement photos in early March, we were so excited! We’ve photographed Sunday River weddings and Sugarloaf and Rangeley weddings but for some strange reason had never been to Grafton Notch before. Well, I should say I haven’t been there - I do think Dean has been there in the middle of the night photographing stars - but neither of us during the day.

There were parts of the hike that we sunk knee-deep or higher into snow and it couldn’t have been more fun! Alex and Amanda were smiling and laughing the entire time - even when Alex started to look a wee bit frozen. It was definitely not a warm day! But at the very end we trekked up the street to a little turn out, hopped out onto the snow bank and we all were rewarded with stunning mountain views along with a light snow just starting to fall.

After their session, hot chocolate was in order for everyone!
