Old Orchard Beach Surprise Proposal | Cameron and Christina
Surprise proposals are one of our favorite things to capture for our couples. It’s an exciting time and can end up being a little stressful so with our careful planning and working with you before you “pop the question” we take a lot of the stress and worry out of it.
For Cameron’s proposal to Christina, he wanted it to be on Old Orchard Beach. Cameron had camped for many years in Old Orchard Beach with his parents and then started bringing Christina so it’s a very special place for them!
They started their evening in Portland having a nice dinner out together and then planned to end the evening with a sunset stroll on the beach. The one thing about photographing a proposal on the beach is it’s kinda obvious if I’m hanging around following them with my camera so I always pretend to be a tourist out capturing the sunset. This means I get a lot of pretty scenic photos of the beach too while I’m waiting for them to arrive.
This evening was pretty perfect with gorgeous soft light. Shortly after I arrived, I got a text from Cameron that they were on their way! Because we planned out where to start, I saw when they walked by me and with my long lens was able to get them setting up their chairs and then strolling down to the water. Usually there’s some nerves that go along with proposing so it always seems to happen shortly after the couple arrives at the spot.
After the “YES” moment and some time to take it in together I introduce myself and we are off to take fun couples photos!
