Bar Harbor's Newest Wedding Venue - The Terramor Outdoor Resort
There are two things that brought together this wedding editorial. The first was the star plates. With Dean’s love of all things astrophotography and star related, the minute I saw the navy star plates come across my pinterest feed I knew we had to have them. Then the idea of a celestial themed wedding came about and because one of our “retirement” plans is to eventually move onto Mount Desert Island and photograph small weddings, elopements and families exclusively in the park & surrounding towns we started looking at venues that fit with the celestial theme on the island. (Don’t worry, we aren’t looking to head into retirement for another 10 years minimum! But we’re always up for Bar Harbor Weddings now - big, small, elopements, proposals! We love sharing the beauty of the park with our couples and families!)
In our search for the perfect Bar Harbor wedding venue we came across Terramor Outdoor Resort and immediately stopped looking anywhere else. I have a feeling that couples who find it probably don't look anywhere else either! One of the resorts experiences is Stargazing in Bar Harbor - bam! Perfect! When you first approach their front desk for check in the lobby is filled with telescopes and lots of information on viewing the stars, they even have tours. Coupled with their luxury accommodations in their Glamping Tents this is the best spot in all of Maine.
Oh- their Glamping Tents. Glamping is an understatement! Their tents are so well appointed it’s basically a luxury hotel room with canvas walls. The tent we used for the getting ready and ceremony had a king sized bed front and center under a gorgeous ceiling fan to keep the air circulating. Around the corner from the king bed was a bunk room with a bunkbed in it for the kiddos. On the other side was a beautiful, double sink bathroom with a glass rain shower and door to open the whole area so you can feel like you’re showering outdoors.
The property’s signature feature is the gorgeous lodge. With a grand, vaulted ceiling inside and floor to ceiling windows looking out over a perfectly lit lawn. The architecture is really what caught my eye initially with this property. It’s just amazing!
