Cadillac Mountain Engagement Session | Ashley and Axel in Acadia National Park
There may have been a few, just a few, screams of glee during Ashley and Axel’s Cadillac Mountain engagement session. As you can see below, we didn’t start out on Cadillac, unless it’s recently become sea level. We had a lot of fun in various locations throughout their session. But on Cadillac, oh windy, chilly Cadillac Mountain is where we had the most amazing light. I’ve NEVER had light that squeal worthy before and with these two in front of my camera, it was just magic.
Of course, we can’t leave out their sweet pup, Ziggy! He was the star of the show and such a cute little guy that he attracted all sorts of attention and pet requests. When we first started out the session on Sand Beach it was a bit windy, lots of other pups, and tons of new smells so you won’t see Ziggy make an appearance until we got to the summit either, but it’s worth the wait!
These two embraced the windy weather we had and I love every minute of it! from Axel being the ever romantic and always helping tend to Ashley’s dress and hair that were both swept into the wind and then Ashley of course with her gorgeous hair and love for just frolicking everywhere we went!
Due to the new reservation system in place it can be a daunting task to schedule anything on the summit anymore. In fact, I know a lot of fellow photographers who will not plan on going up the mountain for sessions but after this last session we made it a priority because it’s where Axel originally proposed! I will never turn away a summit session! We just need to do some extra planning and definitely make sure we get those reservations in early, along with extra buffer time to get to the right spots with enough time to really take advantage of being up there.
