Hailey and Zack's 1774 Inn Wedding in Phippsburg, Maine

Hailey and Zack’s 1774 Inn wedding in Phippsburg was a dream!!!! I’m obsessed with everything about their day. From their first look down on the dock, to their flowers and cake, Hailey’s dress and having her mom, brothers and cousin as her wedding party, and then of course, ending the night by dancing under the stars with their open air reception.

It really was the perfect day for their plans as everything they had planned was outside. As always, if you’re planning a fully outdoor wedding it’s always best to have some backup rain plans just in case, but thankfully didn’t need them.

The morning started with Zack and his groomsmen in the Inn getting ready and all working on perfecting their tie skills. Full windsor, half windsor - it’s all greek to me! But these guys were using YouTube and trying a few different knots to see which they liked the best. It made for a lot of good spirited competition as Hailey’s brothers were across the way getting ready themselves. Kai-Wei, one of Hailey’s brothers wanted to make sure the groomsmen knew that he did his tie faster and without a mirror. In other good spirited competition both of Hailey’s brothers sided up to each other to have us determine which was the tallest. Kai won literally by a hair - his hair.

After Hailey and Zack’s first look down on the dock we all jumped into the Jeep and headed towards Popham Beach for some portraits. Thanks to the 90 degree heat Popham gates were closed already by just after 9am as they were all full capacity. But that’s okay because we aways have a backup plan in our back pocket! Chantal and I jumped out of the car with the couple while Dean circled until he found an available parking spot so he could join us. Everyone was so nice down on the beach with lots of cheers of “congratulations” but then also making sure they didn’t end up in the back of the images.

During the ceremony Zack’s family member sung a traditional Hebrew song and then took to the mic again during the hora. He also had some wicked dance moves while out on the dance floor! It really was such a family-centered day and we are in love!

As I mentioned earlier it was quite the scorcher so at the end of the night when Hailey and Zack mentioned they wanted a star shot we were more than happy to head over to the beach and dig our bare feet into the cool sand while we did their portraits. Dean gave them a quick Astronomy lesson on how to find the right stars that will lead you to the Milky Way core.
