This day started with me wandering up to the wrong house, trying to open the front door, and peering in the windows. Thankfully, this time of year a lot of the seasonal residents aren’t yet moved in. I certainly would have given them a heart attack as I lugged all my gear in through the front door.
Next door, Liv and Alexis were getting ready with the rowdiest bridal party I’ve ever encountered. Just joking, it was the right amount of excited barking coming from their four rescue pups: Lila, Leena, Lily, and Munchie (and Munchie’s tongue). Seriously. Munchie’s tongue needed it’s own bouquet, or at the very least Liv and Alexis were threatening to put a bow on it.
Liv and Alexis have always wanted to get married by the ocean and after all the COVID delays, were finally able to travel from their home in Ontario, Canada to make it happen this week. Surrounded by their immediate families they said their vows in the most quintessential Maine chapel made out of stone. The door left open during the ceremony to let in that amazing ocean breeze blowing off the Atlantic.
After their ceremony everyone went back to the rental house where Liv’s parents cooked up a meal for everyone to enjoy.
We snuck out at sunset to capture some of the best light of the day. Liv and Alexis ended the day with a sentimental tribute to their original flower girls who unfortunately didn't make it to the wedding. The two sprinkled a bit of their doggy ashes into the Atlantic Ocean before taking in a quiet moment to just take in and absorb their day together.
