Hatherly Country Club Wedding | Scituate, MA | Angelika and Clint
This will be forever known as the benchmark wedding that all other weddings will need to match in terms of energy! Probably the highest energy dance floor/reception we’ve in a few years. Seriously. The dance floor was packed the entire night - like no room to even sneak onto it for photos. We had to dance our way in. And from beginning to end nearly everyone in attendance was up and dancing! Even during the dinner hour.
But before we get to the dancing we have to talk about the beginning of the day! Both Angelika and Clint got ready for their day in Scituate but in separate places. Both gorgeous homes right near the beach and lighthouse with amazing views. We are officially moving in. Angelika was at a rental just steps from Scituate Lighthouse where we could see the building storm waves from Hurricane Earl way off the coast. Surprisingly there was nearly zero wind! So for their first look and portraits at the lighthouse we didn’t have to worry about anyone’s hair blowing in their faces and it was perfect! Usually we are working on plan A and plan B for anything that involves being on the ocean because there’s always a breeze.
After everyone was ready we headed for the first look at the lighthouse and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Dean planned out a space just to the right of the light where there wasn’t any foot traffic and we could get the lighthouse in the background as Angelika envisioned. On the walk to the lighthouse it became real and Angelika started to get butterflies and a little bit of happy tears sprang up - but those butterflies quickly settled when she turned the corner and saw Clint! As Angelika mentioned early on in the planning stage that Clint’s smile is infectious - it really was! Dean and I were smiling ear to ear when he turned around and saw her in her gown for the first time! I love a good first look!
After the first look and all the family portraits we headed to their ceremony at the church down the street. It was a perfect service for these two filled with more smiles, some thumbs up, and a few giggles when the priest told Clint he wasn’t being loud enough!
This was a Polish wedding, and if you’ve seen our posts before, you know that there’s a tradition of salty bread and vodka - except Angelika knew her limit and a shot of vodka wasn’t going to work! So they subbed it out for wine. Still delicious and such a sweet tradition of the parents welcoming the couple into the reception and blessing their marriage.
After that the reception broke out and I don’t think ever slowed down even once throughout the night. The DJ’s even had everyone up and dancing during dinner hour with some traditional Polish music and dances. The party went on even after the sparkler exit as the bus brought everyone to a local bar for the after party!
