Marika and Ben's Mountain Star Estate Wedding | Rangeley Maine
When Ben describes how he knew Marika was “the one”, this was his answer:
”The first time Marika met my brother, we were coming back from a company holiday party and my brother was at a bar near my apartment. So we met up with him and he tried to have Marika chug her drink and was teasing her until the bartender told him that her drink was a lot stronger than his. So then Marika turned it on him and made him chug his drink. I knew she could take my own teasing but she also showed that she could withstand some of his hazing.”
We’ve had way too many weddings over the years that were in some way or another affected by cancer. Marika and Ben’s was no exception but we are so happy that Marika’s dad was able to hit all of his bucket list items for his daughter’s wedding and then some!
The day for Ben and Marika couldn’t have been more perfect. Even a few last minute changes, like heading to the overlook for their first look instead of up the hill turned out to be the absolute best choice for their day. Marika’s big wish for the day was to get views of the lake. We got amazing views and Marika and Ben got a few moments to really take it all in before everything started.
Rangeley holds a special place in both Marika and Ben’s heart so it only made sense that when they started looking for a place for their wedding, they chose to have it here! As Marika’s dad joked in his welcome speech, each member of their family has gotten married further north than the last so choosing Rangeley, which is the 1/2 way point to the North Pole, was perfect!
