WillowsAwake Winery Wedding | Audrey and Jimmy

This family! I adore them so so much. It’s been 10 years of working with them and it all came to a grand end (for weddings, but hopefully not for other fun stuff!), this weekend with Audrey and Jimmy’s WillowsAwake Winery wedding. I first met this family TEN years ago when JD and Amanda got married at Pineland Farms since then we have worked with their immediate family for all siblings and then cousins and friends, and friends of friends, for their weddings, family portraits and senior portraits. So I guess now my job is to stay in business long enough to photograph all their kids weddings. I’ll have a walker in one hand and my camera in another - hahaha! But I’d come out of retirement for them!

Audrey and Jimmy met at the wedding of a mutual friend, or more accurately, Audrey first saw Jimmy when he was officiating his friends wedding and thought he was cute. They officially met on a double date a few months later. As Jimmy recalls, he can’t remember what the other friends they went on the date with talked about - he only remembers his time with Audrey.

Their wedding day may have not started out exactly like everyone planned but it certainly ended perfectly! There was a small medical emergency with Audrey’s oldest sister (she’s fine!) and then a huge downpour just before the first look was set to happen. No worries on either. Since the downpour pushed out the first look/family portraits we didn’t have to worry about missing any photos with Audrey’s sister. And Amanda was able to make it just in time for the ceremony - in fact she snuck in just after Audrey arrived at the alter with Jimmy and was able to reprise her role as Maid of Honor. The look on Audrey’s face with she turned around after her first kiss to grab her bouquet was the best capture of the day.

After the ceremony guests moved from the gorgeous wooded spot up to the deck of the winery for cocktail hour overlooking a beautiful view of the vines and surrounded by lawn games. It might have been a hot day, but everyone was enjoying the time outside and together. This was the first big family event since everyone came out of lockdown so there were so many hugs and lots of catching up to be done. Smiling faces all around and time together, exactly what everyone needed!

Following cocktail hour everyone came inside the beautifully decorated tent and enjoyed dinner and dancing under the chandeliers and stars!

We can’t wait to share more from this wedding, we will have a highlight film up shortly as well!
