Cara and Kristin's Two Lights State Park Wedding | Cape Elizabeth Wedding Photographers
This year has thrown a lot of plans for a loop - but as the saying goes “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. Cara and Kristin certainly did that!
Cara and Kristin decided to scale down their planned wedding to a smaller wedding at Two Lights State Park with immediate family and friends. The day started with the ladies getting ready and arriving in style to Two Lights. They didn’t see each other until they rounded the pathways on either side of the bunker and met up before splitting off for their walk to the altar.
It was a perfect ceremony filled with a few tears and lots of laughs as Cara and Kristin officially and literally “tied the knot”.
After the ceremony everyone headed to a backyard lobster bake and pool party to celebrate and cool down from Friday’s heat.

What can I say? Brittany was an incredible talent to work with for our shoot! I have been in the wedding industry for over 20 years and she has everything I could ask for in a photographer. Approachable and down to earth paired with extreme talent and professionalism..... ALWAYS a win. I will be recommending Brittany to all of my clients. Thank you for an amazing day.
We are so thankful we found Two Adventurous Souls! Brittany and Dean are both talented and complement each other wonderfully; we hired both to do our engagement and wedding photos and we are so glad we did because they are such a great team and you can tell how much they enjoy working together.
Our engagement photos came out wonderfully with a variety of different angles and themes with some by the foliage and some by the water. And our wedding photos also perfectly captured the day. Also, to top it off, we received the photos and a thumb drive in a beautiful box after the wedding.
In addition to being talented photographers (each with their own eye), they are incredibly well organized and played a part in how seamless our entire wedding day was. We got married on Peaks Island and they helped us navigate the logistics of an island wedding and making sure we had ample time for a first look and a zip around the island on golf carts for a series of amazing shots. In addition to helping us with the timeline for the day, they also were careful to take note of pictures we felt were meaningful to capture.
I also had a particularly tricky bustle on my dress and Brittany helped my bridesmaids get the bustle back on after our sunset photos. I’m pretty sure she and Dean missed their ferry back to Portland due to my bustle issue, but all the while Dean was taking more pictures on the dance floor with a huge smile.
They are just so wonderful, I really couldn’t recommend a more talented and kind duo!
We interviewed several photographers for our August 2023 wedding, and we are SO happy that we chose Two Adventurous Souls! Brittany and Dean are an amazing wife and husband duo, and they are the nicest and sweetest people. They are also upfront about being LGBTQ+ friendly and even had examples of gay weddings they had photographed (which was honestly hard to find across other vendors we spoke with). This was very important to us as a gay couple, because it can be difficult to fully let your guard down and be intimate in front of a photographer when you don’t know if they fully embrace who you are. The package we chose included an engagement session along with wedding day photography. My husband and I do not typically love to have photos taken of us, and we had never done a professional photo shoot. Therefore, we were a bit nervous going into the engagement session. Right away, Brittany made us feel so relaxed and gave us just the right amount of direction while also making sure the photos didn’t look too posed. The results were phenomenal, because she made us feel so comfortable and at-ease throughout the whole process. Leading up to the wedding day, we collaborated with Brittany to figure out the day-of photo timeline and family/wedding party shot list. She was constantly offering her help during the planning process and shared many useful items like a planning checklist, timeline ideas, and vendor recommendations. She is also super responsive to emails/calls which is sooo appreciated! On the day of the wedding, Brittany and Dean helped the day run incredibly smoothly. They made sure we stayed on our timeline and worked with us to shift some photo timing when we started running a bit late. Throughout the day, they captured so many great details and moments. They also blended in so seamlessly that I didn’t even notice them taking photos most of the night. At sunset, we wanted to take some photos but didn’t want to be away from the reception for too long. Brittany and Dean were very understanding and pulled us away for just the right amount of time to get some fabulous photos! Do not hesitate to book Two Adventurous Souls for your upcoming wedding – you will get to work with incredible people and also end up with stunning photos!
Highly recommend Two Adventurous Souls for your wedding! We had a small ceremony in Acadia National Park and Brittany was great from the moment we booked. She helped us navigate permits and many other details prior to the wedding day. The day of she was so organized and made it easy to hop from spot to spot and get all of the pictures we were hoping for. Not to mention, the picture quality is amazing! :)
