Katie and Seth's summer wedding at The Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, ME
Get ready to smile until your cheeks hurt! This is one of those weddings where we laughed through the entire day so much so our faces hurt when we got home. Katie and Seth are all about celebrating what makes them smile and they find happiness everywhere! Not only did our faces hurt when we got home, our bodies hurt a bit too because for this Colony Hotel wedding the SUN made an appearance and that wasn’t in the forecast so we forgot the sunblock. Another thing to add back into my camera bag for this season - Along with some Neutrogena wipes (IYKYK). Maybe the sun will come out some more now.
The day started with Seth and his guys getting ready in the Library room at The Colony. It was a little tight for all of them but made for some great photos of everyone close together and enjoying the morning. Next door Katie and her girls were prepping in the Oak Room, enjoying mimosas, and again, more laughs! I can’t wait to share everyone’s sweet sweet dance moves on when we share the video!
There may have been a slight hiccup with the dress (Katie says you can hear about that on the podcast!) but what was a dress emergency, quickly turned around with Katie’s maids of honor rallying and getting everything back to normal.
With a slight delay in the first look Seth was super excited to see his bride for the first time. They shared hugs, smiles, and a few tears as they shared their vows in private before their ceremony.
After the ceremony, officiated by Katie’s brother and Seth’s sister, it was time to party! With the warm sun shining down on everyone they headed to the patio and putting green for cocktail hour. While the couple’s dog couldn’t be there, they honored him with signature drinks and custom napkins with his face on them.
The reception was jumping from start to finish complete with the bride getting on the floor during “rock the boat” to paddle an invisible boat full of ladies across the floor. That’s was a first for us!
